A return to cosmic sources...

... My former works (structures and tensions of abstract forms), while developing and deepening, have remained true to the source of direct reality: nature, matter . In order to avoid the pit of cerebral lifelessness, I felt the need (despite or because of my experience) to return to the basic elements of creation. I had arrived at a moment in my life and work when, like Anteus, I knew I must touch the earth to renew myself.
The volcano seemed to me to represent a world constantly destroying ad renewing itself. In my work I have tried to reconcile modern man with his cosmic origins.
