Muhadin Kishev was born in Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia in 1939.

Graduating in Fine Arts from Krasnodar University in 1965.

In 1973, he joins the Union of Artists and works until 1987 in the monumental arts.  

The early years of "Perestroika” saw the creation of a group of young talented artists with Muhadin as their mentor and tutor.

After traveling widely in Europe and India Muhadin   spends four years in

London 1994-98 at the well-known Chisenhale Studios. This period in London marks a radical change in his creative work and in 1998 he settles in Spain.

 

Over more than 30 years 1962-1994 he annually took part in the great collective exhibitions in Moscow and the Caucasus and from 1994 he exhibits every year in London and Moscow. He has also sown his work in

The ArtExpo, Barcelona and Europ’Art, Geneva with the London Gallery JAG Contemporary.

1970       Medal for Valiant Labour

1982       The Laureate prize of Lenin, Kabardino-Balkaria.

2000       In Moscow, awarded the title of Count and the Order of Knight of Honor for his

                Contribution to Russian Contemporary Art and his charity work.

                Honored Artist of Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia.

2001       Academician of the International Academy of Science, Technology and

                Professional Formation, Valencia, Spain.

                Academician of Honor of the Circassian Academy of Sciences

 


MUSEUMS & PRIVATE COLLECTIONS

 

The works of Muhadin Kishev are to be found in the Museums of Fine Art in Nalchik, Kabardino-Balkaria, Krasnodar in the Black Sea and in the Ministry of Culture and the Foundation of Art of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

More than 100 paintings are in Private Collections in Moscow, London France, Spain, Germany,

America, Brazil, Finland, Iceland, Poland and others.
